Medical Billing
Our medical billing team knows how an efficient and responsive billing system functions, in many types of specialties. Based on this experience we offer four billing-related products to meet whatever demands a client may have.
Full Service
When the leadership of a healthcare organization decides to outsource its medical billing, often it is one of four things that has prompted the decision: increased accounts receivables, difficulty in hiring and/or retaining qualified coders and medical billers, questionable accuracy in reimbursement, and/or concern over audit or compliance issues. IHBS will help you become fully operational without an internal medical billing department.
- Certified medical coding professionals will either enter the codes given by the clinician, or determine the codes via medical record review.
- Medical billing staff will send out claims to insurance companies.
- Customized patient statements will be created and mailed, per client’s protocol.
- Payment and cash postings are completed on receipt and posted to line items.
- Recovery/follow-up staff will review unpaid claims in accordance with insurance contracts.
- Monthly meetings will be conducted with the client to review provider productivity, accounts receivable and cash flow data.
Bench Strength
There are times when you may need back-up to relieve the pressures caused by a medical leave, position vacancy, or an increase in patient bills. IHBS offers our bench strength team to be used when you need support for those types of business problems.
- Through the use of a VPN, our staff will access your billing systems to conduct all aspects of the medical billing process.
Temporary On-Site Staffing
Because the demand for medical coding and billing professionals is ever-increasing, there may be times when you need to use the services of a temporary staffing source.
- IHBS will work with you to determine the skill and qualification level of the staff you require.
- We will respond with staff that is able to physically be at your work site and effectively complete the medical billing process.
Medical Billing Process Assessment
Occasionally an organization may have the need to revisit their current billing system. Efficiencies may be of concern, or staff turn-over is an issue. IHBS has experience with the entire process, and will be able to provide a thorough analysis of your medical coding and billing process.
- A medical coding audit will be conducted to gain insight as to efficiencies, accuracies and opportunities.
- Work flow analysis will be conducted.
- Policies and procedures, including registration forms, will be reviewed.
- Software will be reviewed (registration through billing).
- Patient flow through the clinical area will be studied.
- An analysis of denials will occur to determine accuracy in coding and recovery.
